Burgundy is an evening and autumn colour. It reads deeper and richer under indoor light than it does in daylight, which makes it a reception, prom and party suit rather than an office one.
What you get. A two-piece: jacket and matching trousers cut from the same cloth, $249.99 for the pair.
Fabric. 44% nylon, 48% rayon, 8% spandex. Four-way stretch with a dry, matte finish rather than a sheen. The rayon is what keeps it reading as suiting instead of performance wear; the spandex is why it comes off a car seat or out of a three-hour dinner without a crease set into the lap or the elbow.
Fit and sizing. Slim through the chest and waist. Jacket sizes 34R to 54R in Regular, which runs two sizes beyond where most slim-cut suiting stops at the top end.
Care. Professional dry clean. Not machine washable.
Wears with. A Flex Tailor Stretch Dress Shirt — white for daytime and for anything formal, black for a tonal evening look. Burgundy takes a plain shirt better than a patterned one.
